The days of Saint Patrick 400AD
In one lifetime, the spiritual climate of a land was transformed. That life was Patrick; the land was Ireland!
“Once in Ireland, I daily looked after sheep and praying throughout each day the love and fear of God increased within me and my faith was strengthened. And being moved in Spirit upon the mountains and in the woods I prayed up to one hundred times in the morning and as much at night. Arising to pray a great while before day whether in snow or frost or rain I experienced no ill effects neither laziness as the Spirit within me was strong then…” — St. Patrick
It was during his initial years in Ireland that Patrick came to know Jesus Christ and received the salvation found only in Him. At this time Druidism, a pagan practice, was the dominating force that worked in the land, but this was about to change! The Bible says, “They that know their God shall be strong and do mighty exploits!” (Dan. 11:32)
And this is exactly what happened. Patrick, with confidence in his God, had a cause to bring true hope, love, and life to all. It was a cause he was determined to see fulfilled. The prayers and actions of this one man led to thousands of conversions to Christ and the establishment of Christianity in Ireland. One life can make a difference!
THE ULSTER AWAKENING
1857-
The Old Schoolhouse were prayer began
- 1859 a time when Ulster was impacted significantly by a great move of God known to many as "the year of God’s Grace!"
- 100 000 converts in Ireland (one tenth of the total population) were added to the church.
History books record that it all began with the conversion of four men: James McQuilken, Jeremiah Meneely, Robert Carlisle, and James Wallace. Newly converted, hungry for God’s Word, and burning fervently in spirit, they met together in an old schoolhouse in the village of Connor, County Antrim, each week from September of ‘57 leading into ’58 to study the Word and pray.
Their dedication and prayer paid off as they ushered in such a move of the Spirit that people cried out to God in the streets for repentance; entire villages were transformed; and society as
a whole was infiltrated by the power of God. In some places,
the public houses were closed down and crime was almost
non-existent.
Regarding those four young men, it is recorded: Everything that they steadfastly held to over the next year centered around three great fundamental truths of Scripture:
The Sovereignty of the Holy Spirit
The Sufficiency of the Holy Scripture
The Secret of Holy Supplication
It is also recorded that the fields in Kells were so thick with people seeking God that it looked like a swarm of flies. And it didn't
matter about the weather. Men and women were not going to
quit until they found the One who would bring peace to their
hearts and souls!

A Vision of Glory
I saw the water fill up this nation, and this nation filled with water,
and I saw this nation tip up on its end,
and the crown of glory came down upon Northern Ireland,
and I saw the waters run off this land,
and they hit the Celtic Sea with such a tsunami,
and such a force
that it swept across the whole of Europe.
So great was the move of the Spirit, lives were changed forever!

Where God moved once, He will move again, in the Emerald Isle! Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is; then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls….” There are a lot of roads in life. But we’re not just looking for any road; we’re looking for that road. It’s a path well trod! And we can hook up with the prophetic unction and giftings of yesterday — the roads that were cut yesterday in this land — and take our place to build what needs to be built today!
Today, knowledge and revelation of God's Word increases. People are rising up in faith, burning again with revival fires as we see this land once again 'awaken' to the goodness of our God and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. A nation once so wonderfully visited by God, with 1000's of men and women being 'born again' accompanied by powerful demonstrations of the Holy Spirit was so horribly hijacked by many years of terrorism and division. Hate, bitterness and suspicion were part of everyday life with families so brutally torn apart because of men incited to 'fight for the cause' of Ireland!
A new day has dawned! A new fight has begun in our nation, the 'fight of Faith' with fearless confidence, taking back a land that belongs to God. Restoration has begun, healing is taking place, unity is spreading and new relationships developing all because of the true cause... the cause of Love! Its Ireland's time!
