Get Up Again: The Spirit of Faith That Overcomes

August 28, 20252 min read

Too many believers waste their energy praying weak, deflated prayers—pleas that sound more like attempts to move God emotionally than declarations of faith. But here’s the truth: God is not moved by emotion; He is moved by faith.

Jesus said in Mark 11:22 (AMPC), “Have faith in God [constantly].” The original language points to having “the God-kind of faith.” And that’s exactly what He has given to us—His very own faith, placed within our spirit.

I didn’t get to where I am today by lying down in defeat, wondering how I could possibly keep going. There were times I laid low, the weight of discouragement pressing against me. But down on the inside of me—right in the core of my being—there was something stronger than despair. It was the spirit of faith.

2 Corinthians 4:13 (NIV) says, “It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.’ Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak.”

That’s what turned the tide. I opened my mouth. I stood my ground. I told the devil himself:

“I don’t care what you’re saying. I don’t care what you’re doing. I don’t care how many times you knock me down. I am going to get back up again—in the name of Jesus.”

Faith doesn’t whimper. Faith doesn’t beg. Faith declares the Word of God and refuses to stay down.

So I challenge you today—rise up in that same spirit of faith. Look your situation square in the face and speak: “I will not quit. I will not stay down. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

And just as I once told a crowd, I’ll tell you now—look at yourself in the mirror and declare with boldness:

🔥 “Get up, get up, get up!” 🔥

Because in Christ, you were never designed to stay down—you were built to rise.
