1. Romans 12:2

• AMPC:
  Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind...

• MSG:
  Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God... Readily recognize what he wants from you...

• NIV:
  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is...

2. Philippians 4:8

• AMPC:
  ...Whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable... if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

• MSG:
  Summing it all up... you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious...

• NIV:
  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right... if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

3. 2 Corinthians 10:4–5

• AMPC:
  ...the weapons of our warfare are not physical... but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories...

• MSG:
  The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation... We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers...

• NIV:
  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds... and take captive every thought...

4. Isaiah 26:3

• AMPC:
  You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You...

• MSG:
  People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit.

• NIV:
  You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

5. Colossians 3:2

• AMPC:
  And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

• MSG:
  Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground... Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.

• NIV:
  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

6. Proverbs 4:23

• AMPC:
  Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

• MSG:
  Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.

• NIV:
  Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

7. Ephesians 4:22–24

• AMPC:
  Strip yourselves of your former nature... And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude].

• MSG:
  Everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go... Take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life...

• NIV:
  ...to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
