Summoned to Life
In 1 Timothy 6:12 (AMPC), it says this: “Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned…”
You were summoned to this life!
You were summoned to live the good life, the eternal life!
You were summoned to live the life of the Kingdom of God!
The Early Church, under the instruction of the Holy Spirit, had the sense of knowing that life was not just passively going to arrive. I’ve been praying, speaking in the Spirit, declaring over people: “Fight! Fight the good fight of faith! LAY HOLD of that eternal life! Don’t be passive about any of this!”
In this earth’s lease where the devil is still the prince of the power of the air, we as the Church of Jesus Christ still have to put on the armor of God, step out another day, and take another victory. Ephesians 6:12 tells you that you don’t wrestle against flesh and blood. Flesh is not your issue! There are spiritual forces and dark princes that want to rob you of your future, and if you are passive, you will not walk in this abundant life that was provided for you — because this life is to be fought for. It is to be received. And you must harness it, bridle it, and ride it! You let it know who’s boss! Remember, Jesus won the complete victory and gave us the authority to rule and reign in life. (Rom. 5:17-18)
“Well, Pastor, you don’t know how hard it’s been.”
And you don’t know how hard it’s been for me. But I can tell you at this beginning of February 2025 that I’m standing strong today because through the last several decades, I chose to fight! When the enemy thrust sorely at me that I might fall, I chose to get back up again! (Ps. 118:13)
That’s what we do as believers. We get back up again!! And if it doesn’t look like things are working, just hold on — things are about to change! Why? Because we’re fighting the good fight of faith! (1 Tim. 6:12)
Have a look at Psalm 91 in the MESSAGE translation today. It’s so powerful.
“You who sit down in the High God's presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
say this: “God, you're my refuge.
I trust in you and I'm safe!
That’s right — he rescues you from hidden traps,
shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm." (Ps. 91:1-4 MSG)
The devil will try to say, “You're not going to get it.”
He’ll say, “It's not going to happen. You're going to run out of time.”
But I want you to tell the devil right now, “You’re a liar, devil!
God is going to do it exactly as He said He would do in Jesus’ Name!”
Declare it today!
“No harm will even graze me!
I am hidden with Christ in God.
I have received a place of safety, a place of refuge!
I receive everything Heaven has.
I receive the protection of El Shaddai — now!
I plead the Blood over my family, my house, over my city!
No evil thing will ever come near me in the Name of Jesus!
So if all hell is going on around about me,
it's not going on where I am in the Name of Jesus!
Psalm 91 is my birthright!
I have been summoned to life, and I will live my life to the full, 'till it overflows!
This is my year.
This year I have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.
I take this year.
I actively take steps to fulfill the Father's plan for me.
In Jesus Name."
