1. Jeremiah 29:11

• AMPC:
  For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

• MSG:
  I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

• NIV:
  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

2. Ephesians 2:10

• AMPC:
  For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus... that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us...

• MSG:
  He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

• NIV:
  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

3. Romans 8:28–30

• AMPC:
  We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together... for those who are called according to [His] design and purpose...

• MSG:
  Every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good... He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son.

• NIV:
  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

4. Psalm 139:16

• AMPC:
  Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape...

• MSG:
  Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you...

• NIV:
  Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

5. Proverbs 19:21

• AMPC:
  Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.

• MSG:
  We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails.

• NIV:
  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

6. 2 Timothy 1:9

• AMPC:
  [For it is He] Who delivered and saved us and called us... not because of anything of merit... but because of and to further His own purpose and grace...

• MSG:
  He had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

• NIV:
  He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.

7. Philippians 1:6

• AMPC:
  And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ...

• MSG:
  There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it...

• NIV:
  ...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
