1. Luke 10:19

• AMPC:
  Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

• MSG:
  See what I’ve given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you.

• NIV:
  I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

2. Ephesians 1:19–21

• AMPC:
  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe... far above all rule and authority and power and dominion...

• MSG:
  Oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe...

• NIV:
  ...his incomparably great power for us who believe... That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ... far above all rule and authority...

3. Matthew 28:18–19

• AMPC:
  Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations...

• MSG:
  Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet...”

• NIV:
  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...”

4. Ephesians 2:5–6

• AMPC:
  Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ... And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere...

• MSG:
  He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.

• NIV:
  ...made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions... And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

5. Colossians 2:9–10, 15

• AMPC:
  For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form... And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life—in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead... [Christ] disarmed the principalities and powers... made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him.

• MSG:
  Everything of God gets expressed in him... When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too... He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority...

• NIV:
  ...in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness... He disarmed the powers and authorities... triumphing over them by the cross.

6. James 4:7

• AMPC:
  So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

• MSG:
  So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.

• NIV:
  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

7. 1 John 4:4

• AMPC:
  Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them... because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

• MSG:
  You come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world.

• NIV:
  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
