A Word for 2025
When I was working on this new year, one of the words that came to me was “harness” — that we are to “harness the year.” And Jeremiah 46:3-4 (NIV) was highlighted to me: “Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle! Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armor!”
There’s no doubt in this that the Lord is saying to His Church:
“Be battle-ready!
Harness and put reins on this year!
Do not let this year get away from you!
You dictate to this year!
Ride this year like a horse,
and ride it dressed for battle!”
Everything is coming into line. Everything is shaping up! But the job of the Church is a spiritual one. We don’t war against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness, wicked spirits in heavenly places! (Eph. 6:12)
There is that of the world that is going to rise, but our job is a spiritual job: to live out and follow the plan and purpose of God. And a key to doing that is found in 1 Corinthians 14:2 — to pray in other tongues.
When we pray much in other tongues, we are speaking directly unto God — and there is a revealing! Answers and revealed mysteries will come to us to help us harness this year and ride out battle-ready!

The Spirit of the Lord spoke also to me about 2025 from Genesis 1:3 when He said, “…Let there be light….” That word “light” is the Hebrew word “ohr,” which also means “order.”
Then Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) says, “Your word is a LAMP to my feet and a LIGHT to my path.” In other words, we can see where we are, and we can see where we’re going.
So we need the Holy Spirit, the illumination of the light of God, who lives on the inside of us. And the entrance of His Word brings light (Ps. 119:130). so we can say the entrance of His Word brings order. Order is coming to our lives!
So our mind is being renewed by the Word of God that we are studying. We don't need to try and renew our mind. The Word does that for us. I sense that there are a lot of people at times trying to get the benefit of the Word, but the Word actually brings the benefit of its own essence. We're not trying to get what God has already programmed to yield!
In other words, if you spend time in the Word, your mind is going to be renewed. (Rom. 12:1-2) You're not trying to renew it. You're not trying to wash your mind with a big old bar of soap. God said it's by the washing of the water of the Word! (Eph. 5:26)
So declare it! “This year God is bringing order to any chaos in my life!”
